How a piece is made
Every FGF launch goes through eight steps before it is released for sale. This is how a reference becomes a piece with its own design language.
Step 01: Research
Jewelry stores in Brazil and abroad, along with a trend consultancy, show what is moving in the market.
Decision · FGF studies the market before drawing.
Step 02: Curation
From the references, FGF keeps what fits the market and the FGF product language.
Decision · Selection made by the FGF designer.
Step 03: Drawing
The reference becomes an original sketch, with proportions planned for the collection.
Decision · In custom development, you approve the drawing.
Step 04: 3D modeling
Volume, thickness and fittings defined on the computer, before any metal.
Decision · Changes are still inexpensive at this point.
Step 05: Prototype
The piece printed in resin so you can see it, hold it and adjust it.
Decision · You approve the physical prototype.
Step 06: Mold
The master that makes it possible to repeat the model in casting.
Decision · The model is ready to scale.
Step 07: Pilot run
The first cast pieces are inspected.
Decision · Validation of what goes into production.
Step 08: Approval
The piece is released for production and for sale.
Decision · The production lead time starts counting.
What FGF does and what the plating shop does.
FGF develops and manufactures the unplated piece. Plating, finishing and the time until the finished jewelry come afterward, with your brand's partners. Separating these stages from the start avoids friction between casting, assembly and plating.
NoteFGF delivers the piece unplated. Plating, finishing and the time until the finished jewelry depend on the plating shop and the steps your brand hires.
Lead times, with no surprises
Each option has its own lead time. Knowing this from the start helps you plan the launch, the plating and restocking.
Approximate minimum for custom development: 100 to 150 pieces per model.
